Doing a trans job on a 90 awd...

come across the 2 17mm bolts at the front of the right member (where it bolts to the front member)

it seems very odd but it looks like part of the member itself is folded over top of the heads of the bolts? WTF

is this normal? are you supposed to pry this outta the way? makes no sense to me

Yeah its just from scraping the ground, running over stuff I guess. I never really understood it either. Just bend it.

think so?

its really odd - a little more effort with a prybar and i got it pryed back for enough

it just looks like it was that way from the factory...

trans is on the shop floor now

It surely did not come that way from the factory. I can tell mine had been bent over from hitting something. The paint was all scraped off and even the bolt heads were so jacked that I had a hell of a time getting a socket on them.

still doesn't make sense to me.....but w/e i got them off
