Ok I searched forever but couldn't find what I'm looking for, maybe I'm just blind, I don't know. Here's my problem I have a 93 tsi awd with a bad tranny, and I have a 90 awd tranny. I know there are some differences, but I don't know what they are. I can take the 23 spline output shaft out of the 93 tranny and put it in the 90, that much I do know, but my question is are there any other differences that would cause this not to work? I was told the gear ratios are all the same, so that's not my concern. I thought a previous post somewhere said that the shifter and cables are different, is that true? If so would it be possible to just swap the gear selector levers on the tranny that the cables attach to, or would it still not work right? The local drag strip is opening up this satruday, so I really want to see what my car will run. Thanks.

as far as i can remember, the shifter and base, cables and levers on the tranny are different from 90 to 91+ it maybe possible to just swap the levers, i know people have had problems with just directly swapping the trannies. i would try contacting someone like shepracing and ask him for advice.
