Ok, I did it, but it's still not right...

After finding many boost leaks on my test, I decided to undertake the TB shaft seals. Everything went fairly smooth. I also decided to eliminate the FIAV from the list of poss idle surge causes. That also went fairly smooth. I put everything back together and it held a lot more psi. It was only holding 3, rephrase that, it would peak at 3 and drop immediately. Now I get over 10 no problem, but it STILL leaks at the shaft on the spring side. I would assume(but we know what that does) the FIAV was a big part of the problem. I have also isolated the IC,IC pipes, Turbo, BOV, and it will hold whatever I put in, without bleading down at all. Here is the odd part... Now it high idles cold still, and it will idle a bit high when it is warmed up. I thought the FIAV blockoff would stop that. Also the BISS is closed, all the way now. It never was before. Oh, and it has a new O-ring from Mitsubishi. I have rechecked the ISC and it is working fine. I even checked base timing, again, fine. The surge is all but gone as well. Any ideas what would cause this? The TB shaft looked great so I can't understand why it would still leak.

Thanks for any help you can supply.

New update...
The idle surge is all but gone. I do have some new symptoms that are odd to say the least. Now after about a 10 minute drive the car will idle at different RPMs. Sometimes at that 700-800 mark, sometimes at 1100 RPM, sometimes as high as 2000RPM, and sometimes it will idle at about 500RPM and it even died twice. Has anyone ever had a car do this? I am baffled by the sudden change in driveability.

Thanks

my car idles at 1,000-1,500 i say that because it goes up to 1,500 and drops down to 1,000 and does this constantly LOL....no clue buddy sorry, but atleast you are not alone

Yea, well mine was doing that. I replaced the TB shaft seals and blocked off the FAIV that is all but gone. A boost leak test reveals a lot. Maybe my TPS is messed up. When the car was at Mitsubishi they said it was right where it should be and was fine. WHo knows?

Maybe its the TPS sensor or some coolant temp. sensor because if your car is warm and then it starts to idle weird maybe it has something to do with that.

I am going to double check those, however, this morning I started it and it would not idle, until the 3rd attempt. It did not want to idle when I shut it down last night. It would seem as if what ever it is, it's mechanical. Maybe the TPS is sometimes giving good voltage and sometimes not. Every time I have the car on some kind of scanner or logging device EVERY friggin thing is good. I don't get more then a day or two of "success" (if you can call it that), after each "repair" I do. Don't get me wrong, I don't claim to be an expert in the ways of DSM's. I have been working on cars since the mid 80's. I know my way around them. I don't think this should be so hard to fix.
