Does anyone know know which way the oil seal on the passenger side of the trans-axle should go? This is the seal that seals the front axle There is a little hole (i thought was for drainage) does it go on top or the bottom of the seal? i am getting a bit of leakage and it seems like maybe its coming from that hole. I looked at all the diagrams but none seem to show enough detail to tell which way the hole should go.

Post up a pic.

I'm not familiar with that particular seal on the 2G (same as the 1G I would assume), but some seals have a tiny hole in the outer ring to relieve trapped air during installation (which I've never understood)... but it shouldn't leak from that.

If it's inside the outer sealing ring, then it probably is for draining any trapped fluid back to the inside of the seal.

Here is the pict. Notice the notch, I placed it at the top.

Notch in the 12-o-clock position, drain hole in the 6-o-clock position.

The picture illustrated above is the correct orientation.
