i have just installed my new turbo and i am leaking oil bad through the exhaust. I am stumped if anyone can please help.

what do u mean by through the exhaust? im assuming its smoking? if so where from through the muffler as in blue smoke under boost or all the time? if not there then maybe under the hood? please go into more details to help us understand exacly. If no smoke how do u know your leaking oil. Just all in all more detail would greatly improve your chances of having your question answered effectivly.

sorry, I took the exhaust off except for the down pipe and there is oil coming out and smoking continuosly, i checked the intercooler piping and no oil is in it.

did u buy your turbo used? if so did you check for any shaft play because that may indicate theres oil going through the seals and being spit into the exhaust. If not then is there anything blocking the oil return line either a kink or any sort of crud inside? im assuming you probally didnt check for any blockage in the return with the turbo uninstalled? if not you might consider doing that because if there is a blockage you may get higher than normal oil pressure inside the center section and with a used turbo or even new it may cause oil to be forced through the seals into the exhaust housing and into the downpipe.

i should ask is the return line new or did u happen to reuse your old one? if its new make sure that the return line gasket thats between the actual line and the center section didnt get like #### eyed to the point where it would block oil flow, or that u didnt load on RTV there and have it smooshed into the line at all. Also if you used any sort of sealant in assembally that can somtimes smoke through there aswell but not continuously. Is it a blue smoke or what color?

the smoke is blue, and i have no shaft play, the return line was used but i did not find anything blocking the flow. the turbo was capped and when i took of the caps there was a coat of oil on the internals.

ok, how long have you run it at idle continuously? and haver you checked your oil level to make sure that its burning fresh oil and not some garbage that was used in assembally or anything else?

damn ok so obviously somwhere one of the seals has to be bad and shooting it into the exhaust. Have you check inside the intake for massive amounts of oil? If you got the turbo from a vendor id deffinantly shoot an email over to them for some advice or even to get some sort of compensation on this matter. If all else fails bi*** them out and demand a replacment turbo. Remember the customer is always right. Sorry to those customer service people(like myself) that are on the recieving end. LOL

i took the bow off valve off and checked inside the pipe leading to the intake on the motor and there was no oil there, i also checked the lower intercooler pipe and no oil there.

take the actual pipe off from the inlet on the turbo and look in there for a pool of oil just chilling or inside the pipe to see if its blowing out both sides or just the exhaust side. There would ###### be some in the ic piping aswell but i guess if its not then ###### only dumping it into the exhaust side.

there was a puddle of oil in the intake side of the turbo, any ideas where i can get new seals the shop i ordered it from is not replying to e-mails and i can't get an answer on the phone.
