Oil presure sending Thread Size

Im not sure if this belongs here but ill give it a shot. whats the size of the oil pressure sender hole on the 6 bolt motor? thanks in advanced

1/8 BPT (which is the same pitch and thread count and size and 1/8NPT) the differentce is that BPT stays a consistant diameter throughout the length of it's body where as NPT is formed to a slight taper so tht it gets tighter nd seals the junction as you tighten it

Now if there's a metric thread tht is also the same as these 2 i'm un-aware of it, but when i was using random pipe fittings to convert everything to "push-lock" style hoses i found that 1/8BPT was perfect

NOw BPT (brittish pipe thread) is hpretty hard to find at normal stores (fastner stores will have it though) and NPT (national pipe thread) is available everywhere from ace to o'reillys... NOw you can thread a 1/8 NPT fitting into the non tapered BPT hole but it won't go in too far but will fit and seal just the same (but you won't have much thread holding the thing in should it take a heavy bump or be hit by something and may strip and pop out)

So what i recomend and do is to chase the hole with a 1/8NPT tap putting the taper into it and use the 1/8 easily found NPT fittings, just be sure to wash the housing before tapping (to avoid trapping shavings in the oil film) and then re-wash after tapping to get any shavings that might be hiding in there still

HOpe tht's the info you7're looking for, if not my bad \\But, if you dont' wanna remove it and just anna put a fitting in there, just put a 1/8 NPT fitting in , makesure to use some pipe dope (thread tape) on it though

thanks man thats what i thought i was just curious i was just making sure that is wasnt a metric fit. i have done many builds and just never new always got Lucky?
