Oil pressure sending unit not relaying info... help

Ok guys I recently acquired a 1990 Eagle talon tsi awd with a 6 bolt swap. I was driving easy on it when I noticed I had no oil pressure. Did an oil change.... oil was black as pitch. Still says I have no oil pressure. However while doing the oil change I noticed that there are two sensors with wires coming off of them just a little bit below the the oil filter. I noticed one of them was loose, I went to barely wiggle it and it just popped right off the nipple where it connected. I think this one might be for the oil pressure light b/c I checked the gauge cluster and the oil light was blinking. I touched it to the sensor and checked the gauge.... it had turned off but the oil pressure gauge had still not moved. Any ideas.

Ok the sensor just may be bad, i would replace it and not take the chance if you need a stock one pm i have one in one of my dsm boxes. Check the wiring again, its a old car the blue wire if im correct is the oil sending unit one, i believe the yellow one is for the idiot switch, but double check for yourself to make sure. The yellow one has the oring if im right i just removed my oem one.

Ok I'll double check tomorrow.... I'll stay in contact with you on the oil pressure sender. I don't think the oil pump would just completely go out, be more likely that oil pressure would jst get lower and lower unless something clogged pickup tube. My valve cover is leaking a minimal amount oil so I know that the head is still seeing oil. I really wish there was good picture of these two somewhere.

So if I want to hook an autometer oil pressure gauge up could I use the stock sending unit input and run it to the autometer.

Sounds good i just had a fresh build so im not too worried about my oil pressure i switched out for a aftermarket one lmk on the sender.
