I changed my altenator belt and now my oil pressure gauge stop working. Car runs fine no strange noised so I am sure its just the gauge. Any chance i unplugged the gauge some how???

Thanks

At the bottom of your Oil Filter Housing is a small dinner bell shaped object, That is your Oil Pressure Sending Unit. theres a cheap and ineffective plastice covered metal clip that gets the signal that has probably popped off due to age. I exacto'd a hole on the far side and ran a cotter pin through to keep mine on. However if it is connected, I would check the sending unit for proper operation. Simple fix either way. Chances are when you pulled your wires off your alternator (if you did) or were working down in there, you bumped the wire loose. It's a single wire like the one that goes to the PS Pump so is easy to find. Runs right on the same branch as the alternator wires

I think I know what you are talking about. I have a loose wire and black clip hanging down just under or maybe a little further back. I can not find anywhere to hook it to. I see the dinner bell shaped object you are talking about but it doesnt seem to have any place to connect the clip.

Thanks

That wire with the "clip end" slides/snaps onto the oil pressure sending unit's "nipple". It's really a weak, but functional, design because it can easily be knocked off.
