Oil Pressure Gauge not Working

(If this is a mechanical oil gauge...)

True, don't want to tighten that nut too tight or the compression ring will pinch into the line. Just tighten it til the line doesn't move any.

If the line has been crushed by the compression ring, you'll have to cut that bad section off and repeat that process over again with a new compression ring.

If it's anything like mine (Auto Meter Cobalt Series), I had this problem once. Make sure your wiring is 100% correct. There should be a power/gound for the backlight, a power (ignition source), another ground, and the sender wire.

The problem I had was the ground wire (not for the light) had somehow come off, and the needle pegged past 100.

Again, only if yours is anything like mine. Hope this helps.

yes tightening it too tight will definately make is wig out. be craeful though, cause somtimes when you do mess it up like that it will offset the needle. causing false readings. i had a problem like this once and had to call autometer and they told me everything that went wrong LOL
