Hey guys whats up.....havent posted in awhile, due to my car being down since october.

Well we got the car back together, with a freshly rebuilt block, and crank, with ross pistons, etc. Anyways we start the car up, and it turns on thank god, and we let it idle for a minute. Turn it off make sure there's no leaks or funny business. Ive turned the car on numerous times with no real problems, except that my oil pressure gauge is reading anything. Now obviously i do have oil pressure, or i think my engine would have siezed, and also we took the oil cap off, and saw that oil was flowing.

My question is that where is the oil pressure gauges sensor/or plug at. Maybe i missed it and didnt get it plugged in. I dont really wanna take it for a drive until i fix this prob.

Thx for you help guys

mines doing the same thing, my engine's fine iv been driving it for a bit with it screwed.. maybe a sensor or sumthing??

thx alot for the replies.....it is the stock oil pressure gauge.

now if that somehow got messed up when everything was out of my car, is that piece replaceable, or do i have to buy the full assembly with it?

and does anything plug into that? maybe i forgot one, but i dont think so

Mine was ripped off when I was doing the swap as well. But that is the least of my worries. I cut my engine harness in half when dropping the eng/tran in.

I too, would like to know where and how that is replacable.

clapbak> is that oil temp or pressure..
theres 2 pics there.. what are they for? pressure or temp?

That was my mistake when I posted to the original thread I miss-read it. The Pix with the one circled in green is the stock oil sending unit on a '90 4G63.

The second pix show's an auxillary site for an aftermkt mechanical gauge.

Yes it is replaceable and yes there is a wire that clips onto the bottom of the sending unit. It was not on when the pix was taken.

If you find that everything is hooked up, but still not working, you might want to install an aftermkt mechanical oil pressure gauge setup and be through with it.
