Oil Pressure Gauge install question.

Okay, So I ordered a electric oil pressure gauge and was wondering if I had to T the sender units or could I just completely do away with the stock one and just have the one with the gauge? And yes I did search!!!

I'm guessing that in doing so i'll just lose my stock gauge reading on the dash right? But no harm?

Correct. When I get around to installing mine this is probably how I'll do it as well - then see if I can rig up the stock gauge for something else..who knows..

yeah and if you wanted you might be able to just tap into the lines and they might both work. if it was me i'd just completly disconnect the stock one and use the aftermarket gauge.

I removed the stock sender and screwed the aftermarket one in its place. It is a greddy electric. Lost the cluster gauge, but why have two oil pressure gauges.

Exactly! That's what i'll do!

Do realize you'll need an adapter to screw it in, the stock threads are BSPT (or some such combination of letters) that isn't the same as NPT.

Yep either an adapter or tap the threads with an 1/8"apt (or something not npt) thread chaser. Only cost couple bucks at O'reileys. Be sure to take time and use vaccum to get the shavings out.

Okay.. I've only used a thread chaser once. But you just screw it in and out a few times and then vacuum the shavings out right?

Put some Thread sealer and Just screw it in, All you have to do is weight 3 or 4 hours for the sealer to dry.
I put mine with thread sealer and haven't get any problem.
