Oil pick up

Am I ok to use a 2g oil pick up, the cupped one in a 6 bolt?

Lol noone?? Really? The 6 bolt comes with the flat oil pick up screen, the 7 bolt comes with the cupped one. Anyone know if its exceptable to interchange??

I read on the dsmlink forums that you can do this. I can't remember if they had to modify anything though, but it is possible.

I took some time today to mock up the 2G 7-bolt pick up on a 6-bolt oil pump and into a 6-bolt oil pan. It bolts up and fits fine. There are no modifications necessary as it is, on the whole, shorter than the 6-bolt pick up and uses the same routing into the deep of the oil pan. So long as the mating surface seals on the oil pump, it should work just as well as a 6-bolt pick up.
