So just curious, what dose everybody do with the oil pump pick up when using arp main studs? I'm putting a 6 bolt motor together and when it came time to put the pick up on I realized the hold down nut isent possible w/ the large stud.
Eliminate the tab compley? Open up the hole diameter? I would like to know what most people end up doing there.

Yes, you have to make the hole slightly bigger to fit the ARP main stud. I just used a drill bit to make the hole slightly larger.

The factory 2g pickup doesn't have the tab and appears to be a bit thicker. It bolts right up. This is what I used. Of course, my pan was dented and I was worried whatever bent it may have bent the stock pickup. So, I really just wanted to buy a new one anyway.

Yea I'm finding that drilling the whole isent really going to work to great either. I'm gonna chop it off like Gus@RRE said

FYI: when you drill it out the pick up dosent seat properly on the arp stud. Theres a gap thats originally not there because of the unique design of the stock main bolt. I tried to compensate by adding washers between the main cap and pick up tab, but it causes the nut to sit about half way threaded on the stud(not good!).

I'll just do like the 2g's do and go with out it.
