hey guys first off i have to say im so happy to have me gst back :) now im just working on fixing it up ok after me 6botl swap my oil light will come on when its ideling after i give it gas it goes away any ideas??? im ok on oil too?? let me know if u guys have any ideas

yeah the oil is fine um yeah idel is ok just like when ever i got to shift the light will come on between and at lights or when ever the rpms go down it will pop up any ideas

I changed my oil pressure sending until with a non OEM one and it's doing the same thing. None of my 2 oil gauges are working(OEM and Aftermarket one).

I have a somewhat similar problem. When I'm driving around, my oil light will flah on for a second or two then shut off. The gauge is reading correctly, though. When I'm at idle the gauge reads below the first mark and when I'm driving around, it is right in the middle. Does the light read anything that the needle doesn't?

Sorry to jack the thread, but I thought that these may be related.

 If the light is coming on, and you put in a new sender, then the pressure is dropping low enough to trigger the light. That's bad.

OH yeah that's bad dude! my buddies light comes on too......at 3psi!!!!! yea thats sucks..good luck dude! :thumb:

DSMs require their own pressure sender. Other than the hideous cost, I don't know why.
The big, expensive sender is for the needle, the little, cheap sender is for the light.

If you're getting flashing while driving, and the oiling system is healthy, look for a loose wire.

So I need to buy a OEM sending unit? Cause the one that I have is about half the size of the OEM one. Should I also go ahead and buy the one for the light? It's getting me to thinking if they gave me the one for the warning light instead of the actual sending unit.

Youll probably need a new engine or maybe just a new oil pump.
Hahaha this post i thought was funny.. its like going to the doctor because your sick and him saying.."well, you may get a slight stomache ache from this medicine....or die" in a monotone voice. I know what you meant, no disrespect, it just hit me as funny.

well my stock gauge doesnt work like it stays on low all the time so what should i do it only does it when i let go of the pedal or let the rpms drop down what should i try

I had this problem also. When I changed my oil, I looked at the connector underneath the car to see if maybe it was loose. What I found out was that it was just gummed up really bad. I took some engine cleaner and sprayed that area and scrubbed around that connection, and it has been work properly ever since.

You may just give that a try and see if it helps any.

do u have any pics of what it looks like what is it were is it by let me know i will try it asap thanks alot

It should be pretty easy to find. Look near the oil filter, there should be a couple of wires that connect into a black pastic T-shaped housing. Do you have a Chilton's manual? It kind of give a layout of where it is at.

When I was cleaning my engine bay, I went ahead and shot some under there just to clean the underneath off. As soon as I started it up, the needle was working perfectly and has been ever since.

If you need to me to still get a pic for you, I will try to do that tonight.
