check engine light on/off when it wants?

ok.... I have a 1g TSi AWD with an NA 6bolt swapped in it... I have no CEL when I start the car, but after about 5 minutes of just letting it run, the CEL comes on... The weird part is that when I turn off the car and turn it on (NOT STARTING IT) so I can check the code, then the light is off... I can start the car and the CEL will be off, then after a couple of minutes it will turn on, then I can stop the car and start it again and the CEL will be off again...\

I didnt change the CAS on the NA motor to the on from the turbo... thats all that is different though... at least that I can see

Well did you get the code. they are stored could be somthing simple.

no i didnt... I didnt bother to check it because it wasnt staying on... it just goes on and off when it wants to... I will check the codes later... I hate checking codes on this thing... you have to do it with a volt meter...

Now now if a fifty four year old can do it for a young buck like you it should be a snap.

hahaha... I know.. i know... its just a pain to do it... every other car just flashes a little light... hopefully its just the cas or something like that....

are the ignition coils different on the NA as opposed to the turbo model? I have both and I can switch them if needed.... there wasnt too much I could find on swapping a non turbo 4g63 in to a 1g tsi AWD
