I had the same problem, check around the screws on the valve cover, if they were tightend down too hard they can crack the valve cover.

hellp plz!!np. this would help me too. far as the silicone. thats what i did i put like a 1/2 a tube of silicone over the area. now waiting for it to completly set up b4 i start the car. i cleaned the area with engine degreaser 1st too so it will stick better hopefully.Originally posted by TTalon

thanks for the help. but i just called my buddy that helps me with these cars and he said that the oil cap is terrible on the 1g's. is that statement true? and if it is, what brand of oil cap would you guys recommend?
