okay i need help!! please please!

less than a year ago my headgasket blew, like 6k miles since. oil filled up coolant overflow. i replace hg at dealership, and it fixed it. now its doing the same thing!

ideas? someone told me it could be the turbo now.

stock turbo, 99 GS-T, 80k miles, manual

help

your oil filter housing could be bad, turbo, or you might have a crack in the head or block.

How long ago was the headgasket done? Maybe you should take it back

I found the paperwork. the headgasket was replaced 3,800 miles ago. and should carry a factory warrenty from mitsu

okay i have no smoke of any kind thus far. so i'm thinking not turbo. oil filter housing you're saying?

If your oil filter housing is bad or cracked, then oil will show up in your coolant. Because the oil have higher pressure than the coolant, the oil is forced into the coolant, but not vice versa. Start from there.:thumb:

yeah i know it could be the oil filter housing. i'm having an other dealership take a look at it tuesday. i'm not playing cat and mouse. i'm gonna figure out what it is for sure.

okay the verdict is in. its a bad oil cooler. so not as bad as having another bad headgasket.

problem is that all the oil has destoryed my coolant hoses. i need a new hose kit from to top to bottom for the coolant. any ideas? from the dealership his be a small forchin

Shell out and get the right hoses. It's going to be a small fortune no matter where you go, but it's a crapload better than having a crappy knockoff hose burst on the freeway, drop all your coolant, then warp the head due to a massive instant overheat.
(Happened to me, though due to an old hose rather than a knockoff. Zero fun.)

A buddy of mine has a 97 gst we had noticed oil leaking a couple days before that. Today we opened the hood and the coolant overlow was filled with oil.we were thinking the seals in his t25. the car isn't overheating or anything.

The turbo seals have nothing to do with oil and coolant mixing, I would look into the oil filter housing if it is water cooled, otherwise a possible head gasket.

If you have oil in your coolant...chances are it is a head gasket. Also, look at your oil and see if it is milky. If you oil is milky, and you also have oil in your coolant, i would say its a head gasket. To what they reccomended and do a coolant system pressure test. You could also put your hand over your exhaust and see if one of your friends could rev it up alittle bit, and if you get antifreeze on your hand, then there is your problem.

I hope that isnt your problem though...head gaskets suck!

well...on our cars they are too bad, but on some of the DOHC v6's...wow!

I thought that the car would overheat and smoke when the head gasket blows

Depends on where the gasket is leaking.

could be the oil cooler to. Same think happened to another guy I know

Very well could be, I know people who have upgraded to external oil coolers for this exact reason.

His friends car is a 97 though which, without more info, would make me think a HG is more likely. It is going on 10 yrs old and migh not have ever been done before.

Start with the obvious, do a leakdown and coolant system test. No need to put the cart before the horse and assume the unknown. You should be able to rent a coolant system tester at a parts store. They dont usually rent leakdown testers though so you might have to find someone with one or take it to a shop.

This thread reminds me, I am going to order a leak down tester right now.

I know the guy too i think he has 2.5 inch turboback, turbo xs bov, dejon intake with no fittings on it for vac lines, turbo timer, dual stage mbc, and i think i saw it had like 145k miles on it, at first he thought the oil was coming from one of the ic pipes but then today he opened the overflow and it was mixed oil/antifreeze and took of the rad. cap and oil spewed out.
