So my headache continues, I keep throwing a code for cam position sensor and I did all the diagnostic (service manual) checks and it all checks out. However when I pulled the CPS out it had a coating of oil on it and I just went down and pulled off the cover on the housing and there's oil in there too. Could this be causing my car to throw the CPS code? I don't know if there's supposed to be oil in there or not but I'm assuming there's not.

There's not suppose to be any oil in the CPS housing. Oil is seeping past the gasket/o-ring (I can't remember what's there). I had the same problem and it was causing my CPS to not fire one coil pack.

Wipe your CPS or the magnet clean and also the metal portion inside the CPS housing and that should fix your issue until you can replace the gasket/o-ring.

Man I hope to god you're right LOL. I already bought the damn cam sensor so I'm probably out that $75 if this does prove to be the problem. I don't think autozone will return electronic parts.
