Is there such a product? Is there a way to flush out the system without buying a whole bunch of oil?

Here is why:
I had an extra box of Mobil 1 that I bought for the Talon, and I tuned up the girlfriends Jeep. Now the oil presure on her jeep is staying low, and the jeep is running like crap!

-Can mixing synthetic w/ regular oil do this?
-How would I go about flushing the system?

Thanx,
DeathBeast

I lpersonally love Mobil 1 :thumb: ;) I broke in my new motor and fresh head with regular Mobil 1 for and stayed with it for 5000 miles.

After that i have put another 4000 miles when i switched to Synthetic Mobil 1 and the car does not tick and sounds smoother overall gotta love it.

Defiant has a good point on the benefits vs. cost matter , but michigan weather must be insane right now . Go ahead and use synthetic if you can afford it, the stuff just plain flows better in cold and does not breakdown as fast as conventional oil in hot weather ( trust me i know, i live in the desert man 100 + )

Good luck:thumb: :thumb:

I got a bottle of Gunk engine flush from work a few days ago, along with some oil and a filter. Tonight I got to thinking, is that stuff turbo safe? Thankfully I havent done it yet, as I dont want to before I know for sure. Any input is appreciated.

For an ATF flush you drain your oil, put a super-cheap new filter on, fill up to the normal oil level with ATF and idle the car for about 10 minutes. It is supposed to help clean the engine of old oil deposits etc. Then you just drain it out, put your new filter and oil in and you're done. I definitely would not drive the car with the ATF in there, it is just for cleaning purposes.

Any time an oil change shop recommends an engine flush, that is what they are doing.

I can see flushing you auto tranny but otherwise...
"It's safe. You have no earthly need for it.
Only flush your engine if someone's crapped in it."

If you have been changing your oil there's no need. It just breaks down deposits, which synthetic oil is designed to do....

oh. I just recently got the car and its got almost 100k on it, so I was just thinking it'd be a good idea to get everything cleaned out.

Hey, I was getting ready to do an oil change, I've got some lifter noise and was going to switch to full synthetic. When I got the car it had sat for over two years straight, and had some 6k put on it since the last oil change in '02. So I picked up a can of Gunk Engine Flush to help with deposits and conventional oil remnants. Since this is my first turbo car, just though I would check with y'all. Any objections?

Read the label. IIRC it says specifically do NOT use it on turbocharged applications. I believe it will be bad for the thrust bearing and stuff.

Instead run some seafoam through it.
