flushing oil???

Well this is the first time I had a turbo snap on me. Im sure metal shavings went into the pan. Im going to drain the pan before I install a new turbo and drop the pan. Any tips for a more deep cleaning to make sure I dont have any shavings else where in the block?

you could try draining the oil and then add new oil and drain it again to see if any metal shavings come out.

I think the best thing to do is take off the oil pan and valve cover, then take like 2-3 quarts of oil and pour them all around the head (While you have a drain pain under the engine ofcourse). Hopefully this will take all the shavings out.

I was jsut thinking of doing this exact thing.

Yeah that sounds good. Maybe a magnetic drain plug?? Also some wd to help splash out debris?

Pour some cheap oil down feed and return lines to. Clean pan with brake cleaner and let dry. Maybe spin oil pump with drill.

Thats pretty much what I did. I drained the oil and it looked metal free.....black as night but no sparkle.
