hey all. I'm having an issue swapping turbos between my GSX and my GST. I'm transferring the t25 to the GST. and the 16g to the GSX. I attached pictures of both oil filter housings.

The stock t25 has a hard line that goes to the oil filter housing.... and well on the gst, that spot is blocked off and I don't know how to make the line work.

The other question is how to block off the oil filter housing (the GSX) so I can run my head oil supply to the 16g.

** To distinguish pictures. The GSX has the RED jack stand in it.
* I hope the pictures explain better than the words.

Thanks in advance!

You can buy the 3/8 npt plugs at the hardware store. They will have a square head instead of the internal hex like the stock plug. You can also just remove the plug from the housing on the other car and install it in the filter housing.

I tried busting the hex one out but it was really tight. I have to get some aerokroil penetrating oil and then try. Thanks for the reply!! I was thinking the oil filter housing were different. I'll try tomorrow and post back.

btw, like how I tried to bypass this... looking for a head supply line from you. :p

I plugged mine doing the same method.

Possibly?? I've honestly never checked. The gst has an ebay motor in it from a few years ago, after the stocker bottom end exploded. I did have to swap a few parts over to make it 97 compatible. What would be the difference between 1g and 2g OFH.?

Get a propane torch and heat the hell out of the metal around the plug. It will come right out. There is a thread sealer than you have to melt to get it out. Without heating it will never come out.

Damm the datbase error didnt show my complete post on my last reply. Arent the 2 OFH picrtured 2 different 7 bolt housings? The one with 3 fittings on the side is a 2g OFH. Is the other one with 2 fittings a 1g OFH?

It's possible. Once again I'm not knowledgable about that yet, so maybe you could learn me. I thought it had to do with one being awd. I DO have a 4g63 NA talon that I can take a peak at out of curiosity to see what that one looks like.

I'm going to try a propane torch tonight and post back again. Spent the past 3 hours getting a broken stud out of a t25. Someone went crazy tightening it, before I bought it.

I did see it before it deleted. My message deleted too. But thank you both for your help.

if you feed it from the head during high rpm's a 16g turbo wnt have enough oil and could bring down the life of it go from the OFH its cleaner oil and all you need is a restictrictor

Incorrect. The head is plenty sufficient to feed the turbo from. 14b's and 13g's are fed there from the factory and last for 100k+ miles.

youll need a .070" restrictor and it wont exceed the recomendations of the 16g turbo

jus mx told me himself during high rpm's the head can sumtimes be and insufficent amount of oil for the 16g turbo

Since you still have balance shafts, you *should* be just fine....but if the turbo starts giving you a little smoke under decel, I'd definitely add a .070" restrictor somewhere in the line. Mitsu recommends a max of 42-48psi under operation and 60psi at cold startup entering the turbo, however the head source can often not give enough oil to a Small 16G if it's pushed very hard due to the excessive shaft speeds.
