Oil everywhere

So i looked under my hood after driving my car for a while, and there was oil on everything, it was all over the block, the top of the tranny, the alternator, powersteering pump, ect. and there was a little coolant on the left side and from what i could see the hoses and everything were on there good so i know they didnt leak,

I figure the head gasket blew, but i'd like other thoughts or opinions on what else it could possibly be, thanks.

Man If you have oil all over everything like you say you do along with coolant then I'd say you've got a blown head gasket. Did you notice anything different when you drove it last? Were you running it hard?

I ran it to full boost in fourth gear, and i didnt notice any power changes or anything like that whatsoever and the oil pressure said it was about high like its always said, but as i was driving i looked in my rearview mirror and noticed what appeared to be smoke, and lots of it, but i was on a country road so i figured it could be dust.

But i stopped and checked the exhaust and there was no smoke at all coming out of it, and then i looked in the engine bay and i could see smoke coming out of it, but ive had a burning belt for a few days now, so i thought that was it

I opened the hood and BAM oil on everything, with a hint of coolant on some stuff

It sure sounds like you pushed the head gasket.

Did you check your oil filter? I had the same thing happen on my 95. Turned out that oil filter worked loose due to the stupid 2g oil cooler. If the filter is loose, check the threaded part and make sure that is tight. I know there are other threads about this problem. Good luck---hopefully is not the HG

oil cap? it happened to me, that shot oil everywhere!

Do a compression test. That will tell if it was the HG

With where the oil is it sounds like a HG, but it is hard to believe that your car is still running perfect with a blown HG. If you want to eliminate the possibility of a HG, do a compression test.

A leak down test might help you also.

just did a compression test, from the left to right i got about 30, about 160, then about 120, and about 150

Well those numbers are terrible. Plus where you found all the oil and the worst cylinder match up perfectly. I guess you will be replacing the HG.

Get the package deal so this does not happen again.Well not never but less likely, and when was the timing belt changed last, and water pump.If you don't know the answer too those questions change them.Good luck

...thats a good head gasket..but unless he is going to have the block decked and head milled....it would not be the best choice.

i would get a stock organic with some ARP'S if your not going to have machine work done.

What all is needed to replace the head gasket? i mean parts wise, and what all should i have a machine shop do?

I'm pretty sure i know whats needed but i wanna make sure, and hear any opinions and thoughts on it
