ok so i just changed my timing belt using a manual tensioner and i guess i overtightened it because my oil pump is trashed and all my oil leaked out , ive only driven it for about 5 minutes my question is is the oil pump deffinitely done for or should i just take it apart and change the seal??(along with not tightnening hte belt so much next time LOL anyone that knows please help (at least now i HAVE to take that rear balance shaft out :D)

ok so i ripped everything apart and put copper rtv on both sides of the oil pump seal its pretty snug, can anyone tell me if i could have damaged the main front seal with an overtight timing belt??? i need to know before i put everything back together, i cant see where its leaking im GUESSING its the oil pump seal , btw can you even fix a seal like that with copper RTV at all?? .. please PLEASE HELP wisemen..anyone ?

NOONE CAN HELP ME?? my car is torn apart i need to know if an over tiightened timing belt would have wrecked the oil pump or just the seal on it , also if the crank front seal would have been affected.

First off, QUIT BUMPING YOUR OWN DAMN POSTS.

Now, find the leak and fix it. Dont just assume its this seal or that seal because you will tear it down many, many times on just assumptions alone. Go to your local auto parts store and buy a bottle of uv oil dye and pour it into the engine. Next, fire it up with the timing cover off, shine a blacklight on the suspect area, and bingo, the leak shows up as a bright yellow drip. Now fix the problem with new parts, not rtv. Next time, apply a little oil to the seals before you install them because you probably flipped the lip on the front main when installing it because it was dry.

I agree with what he just said...I had a real nasty oil leak from my oil pump area and couldn't trace where it was leaking from...I tried some of that UV dye stuff and I found the leak in literally 5 minutes. Stop with the guesses and go grab a black light + uv dye. My leak was coming from the front balance shaft seal...but there are a million of different places it could leak from. Did your timing belt slip or skip some teeth? You might want to do a compression check and see if you bent any valves.
