Has anyone ever relocated there oil cooler and used the stock lines and clamped the hell out of them?

I thought about taking them and throwing on like 3-4 clamps each before I up grade to SS lines.

Well...

I did this after a fresh $6,000 engine rebuild. I just cut the banjo fittings off the stock steel lines and clamped on rubber lines and relocated the oil cooler. I used 2 clamps on each line on each end. Worked good for about 2k miles until one day I was cruising down the highway at about 80mph and saw my oil pressure guage drop to 0 in the blink of an eye. I shut er down and pulled over. Turns out the edge of the stock steel line had been rubbing on the inside of the rubber line and slowly cut a gash. Drained about 3 quarts in 10 seconds ruining my new motor.

So with that said I would spend the extra few bucks and get yourself some SS lines and do it right!

Yeah I thought of that myself but I also thought to fix that problem is to take a dremel and fillet the edges of the stock tubing...I am more worried about leaks and stuff of that nature.
