Mike, PM me the name of this supporting vendor for this again. I'd like to have it on file.
Ludacris,
I can also vouch for spoolin98 on this vendor.

Just as a note, when I received my Mitsu pump that I bought from the dealer it was in a plastic bag but also came in a brown box with the Mitsu part sticker on the outside.
Everyone is welcome to PM me their bad supporting vendor stories. And please do use the rating system on the supporting vendor page:

That's not the topic, waterpump differences is the topic. Bashing vendors in any form and "Me too" / "PM Me" /It wasn't off topic, I said that I spent thousands at the same *mystery* vendor and was treated like crap as well.
posts to up your postcount in a technical forum are all against the rules.
I don't know who makes nor sells them. They seem to fail at the hub, and I don't know if one type is more liable to fail than the other. Both designs are meant to be strong enough, but the heat and strain seem to be too much for some of them.Hey Defiant
About what you said in regards to plastic impellers - does it matter at all if it is a closed or open impeller that could cause internal failure? Also, do we know if Mitsubishi makes these kinds? And if not, who does?

I'd still not go with plastic. There's more than enough meat on those metal impeller blades to not be bothered by cavitation erosion before the seal and/or bearing fails, and neither of those will be occurring before it's timing belt time again.
Hoary as it looks, the steel impeller will be just fine.
