toronto,
Well I was on another DSM site and there is a post about OEM fuel rails being bigger then a -10an rail.

Well im here to say that a OEM rail is NOT bigger then a -10an

This is what was posted

Well lucky for me I have both size rails in my hand

A DSM OEM 1G fuel rail is NOT the same size as a -10AN

I got here a -10 rail and a OEM rail and not even close to being the same size

On a OEM rail the hole is 15mm but if you look inside the rail its only 14mm beacuse as it comes towards the end of the rail it has a lip of 1mm.

As for a -10AN rail its 19.5mm

OEM= 14mm
-10AN= 19.5

The exterior dimension of the stock rail is 1mm larger than the interior diameter of a -10 rail

totally agree not even close!!! i think that if you cut off the mounting tabs on the stock you could almost fit it in the -10 ROFL

Umm.

It's pretty freaking close.

-10an=10/16th"=.62"=16mm
15mm=.59"

Difference= .03"

Why are you coming on here and trying to make well known and helpful members of the dsmlink forums look stupid?

Here is a picture anyways, notice how the exterior size of a OEM is about1mm bigger then the interior size of a -10an?

-An sizing works on the 16th scale. ie: -10an=10/16th" -8an=8/16"(1/2").

That hole looks like it is the size of the outside dimensions of an -10an fitting.

Why didn't you post this on that thread on the Link boards?

It also appears that you're measuring a piece of raw extrusion and that the ID of that aluminum matches to a -12 AN ID. Roughly .75". Either way, you definitely don't have a "-10 rail" in that picture.

I think it is a picture of the rails he is supposed to start making.

Maybe he is trying to convince people they need to buy an aftermarket rail and hopes they choose his.:confused:

I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt here. Let's be careful with accusations.

I'd like to simply ask this - if you found information to be false on that other site, did you challenge that information there as well? It's always good to have information like this posted in several places so that it can be challenged and the facts can be spread everywhere. It's one thing to post your findings on both sites, but please be careful with disputing claims posted on another site here. It causes problems and creates questions about motives.

I'm all for posting factual data and challenging data that someone is posting. But let's be careful not to create hostile environments while doing it.

Because it makes himself feel better.. You will notice that he was made a fool on link forums because he is wrong, and the same thing happened here.. He is also selling "his" fuel rails which are actually rails made by a machine shop. Another member on link forums told that it costs 30$ to make the fuel rail he is selling for 99$. :rolleyes:

I also find it lame how you post this thread trying to promote your product without paying vendor fees. : http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...ws/317001-garage16-throttle-body-gaskets.html

Thanks for the link, as you can see they sell -10an not -12 so not sure where people are getting I got a -12.

One thing that bugs me about DSMers is there is more haters on here then anything

It says on their site it has an .800 inner bore. That's bigger than -10. What's so hard to figure out? Do you know what AN numbers mean? They can call it what they want but it's bigger than -10, actually it's bigger than -12.
