im on maperformance.com and im trying to order my top end gaskets and i have some choices on head gaskets no cometic its between a oem organic? head gasket and the oem 4 layer"dont trust" so here is my question what head gasket to buy oem mitsu $52.00 or the oem 4 layer $115 that i heard bad things about using if the head n block are not freshly shaved i dont know what to pick input anyone i was told i cant use the cometic 85.5 86 or 87mm because i have a stock bore

What are your plans? The stock headgasket with ARP headstuds will work great especially if you have not had the head machined or checked for straightness or the block decked. It has been proven to hold well over 400hp. I wouldn't use an MLS gasket without knowing for sure that all your surfaces are perfect and flat. As far as Cometic goes the 85.5mm will work for stock bore. That is just how most places stock and sell them.

The material it is made from.

It is highly unlikely that Mitsu didn't use pesticides and other chemicals when growing these "Organic Head Gaskets".

I think the word you all are looking for is Composite, and I would bet my bottom dollar that every single component of those "Organic Head Gaskets" are made from synthetic materials...

It is called organic for a reason. It is anywhere from 10%-40% inorganic materials such as rubber and other fibers and from 60%-90% organic materials such as graphite.

I guess you didn't get my joke...
I realize there is graphite in the gaskets, but when you construct anything from a lot of different materials, it's called a composite.

All depending on the percentage or organic to inorganic materials used. Over a certain percentage and organic becomes composite.

Does anybody know what max bore an oem head gasket will take? .020 .030 .040?

And I'm speaking for a 2g 7 bolt gasket.
