So I recently had to replace the ECT sensor on my TSI, and I have had to go through two of them, from an auto parts store who's name I don't want to through out there. (rhymes with ducks)
The car keeps having problems, the fans won't always turn on when they are supposed to, causing the car to overheat. or it won't idle properly ever since I replaced it. When I hook a OBD2 reader to it, and go to live data feed, the reader shows the engine temperature to be at -40. So I'm pretty sure the sensor is no good. I have tried looking for an OEM temp sensor, but I don't know where to look. Does anyone know where I can buy one, or get one that will atleast actually work the way it is supposed to. It's almost gotten to the point where I just want to unplug the sensor and let it run in open loop setting. Its killing my gas mileage.
