ok so i did my symborski shifter kit and noticed a lot of wiring in the center console that my 95 tsi did not have. the car has a python alarm on it so i don't know if it's for that or something else. here are the pics, maybe someone here will recognize what it is. the car had neos under it when i got it, but i cut the wires after one broke in half, never did know if they worked or not though. maybe this is what that was for?

Where do they run too? Under the dash or out into the engine bay? Most likely going to be an aftermarket alarm system.

from the looks when i had the console out they ran under the carpet towards the back of the car, like when i had it on the hoist i could see the neon wires running up into the car right under the back seats or close to it. may try to pull a tad on one and see if it moves, that probably would answer it. F pulling the console back out though. LOL

It's going to be the controller for the lights then. Rip it out.

haha, thanks. next time i have some spare time on my hands i'll pull the console back out and get rid of it, it's un-needed weight in the car LOL. next fun job is putting a clutch in it. spring needs to hurry up and get here so i can do my mhi 16g :D

+1 for the ID of the lighting control box. It is most definitely not anything made by Directed Electronics that I have ever seen.

-10 for whomever did the install. Wire nuts? REALLY!?:barf: Wires wrapped around existing wire loom instead of zip tied to it?!:barf:

I suggest you get that wiring out ASAP!

Guaranteed it's the distribution box for the lights. I had one what looked exactly the same when I was 18 and cool. Haha

Be gone with it! Make sure you get it all out as well. The last thing you need is to forget you left the power connected, drive until it rusts then short out your whole car.
