:beatentodeath:    ok here it is, i have the 420a, an OBX 1 peice intake, an OBX fuel rail, and 4 Precision 880cc injectors, ...now trying to assemble them together has proven to be a real task, what brackets am i missing let alone when i set the rail to bolt to the manifold the bolt holes dont line up (like someone welded the brackets for the rail about half an inch off). Im flippin confused frustrated, and about to go ape shit on something, so please any parts advise and or pictures would be frickin awesome at this point.......

I'm sorry I can't really help you more than sayin, it's OBX I have never heard of a good OBX review in my life.

well yeh i know there hasnt been any good reviews but im more inquiring as to how any of you guys put your stuff together some picstures are helpful so at least i can get an idea as o if i have to fab somethign or straight out ####in glue it in(unlikely).......

Jeez, 880cc injectors? Why?

I only know of 1 guy using the OBX intake manifold and actually like it and he resides on 2gnt.

well i got them from a guy on ebay for cheap, and there are still ways to control them so its not too bad, and i can gradually go up in hp and not have to touch the injectors for a while...............so it workis for me in a a few ways......

I wouldn't feel too bad about the 880cc injectors. I'm currently browsing the market for some also. Then again, I plan for 25+psi of boost so, may differ..

As for the OBX rail and manifold, I'd vouch to say you will need to do some modifying, or atleast take it to a mechanic and see what he thinks. You get what you pay for, so don't be too upset. DO NOT glue it on there. Please.

trust me i didnt plan on using glue on it at all, more like sarcasm. As far as the taking it o a mechanic, umm already asked that one, i work with them all damn day, i work for Firestone, so yeh they thought i might be missing something like a bracket but i guess in all reality i do have to mod some kind of bracket after all, but i guess thats the fun of it.........

the fuel rail should be securely welded onto the manifold, take a look where the stock fuel rail should be mounted on the stock intake manifold.

The obx intake manifolds tend to have a lot of fitment issues, you might have to custom fab some of it to get it all to fit correctly, if you dont' want to spend the time or money, just port your stock manifold and have it powdercoated if you want it match, I bet you the stock one flows better for the price.

yeh well unfortunatly i already have the obx manifold and rail, so i guess ill have to fab up something then........

i'd rather not since i already invested in all the stuff anyway, but i have it figured out now. Unless you can find me a good mani for cheap ill just stick to what i got, remember as some of us DSMers are on a tight budget, although this is one project i shouldve never started, but need to finish now.....

I think you should use the...stock IM and save yourself a few bucks and resell them, but my guess is that you ask advise from other dsmers and you really don't care what we say. You ask and only hear what you want to hear.

ok thats it, im not about to be like everyone else and flame out some for doing what works for them, i like my challenges or else i wouldnt have bought the damn car. If you cant appraciate the fact that some one is maniputaling and fabbing parts to make it work for them and look good and perform good in the end, then dont make a damn comment at all, i already have the parts i need all i was asking in the very begining was that anyone who hopefully has this setup to give me an idea on how they put it together, this had absolutly nothing to do with the stock one, NOTHING AT ALL!!!!! Im not a ####ing moron, im just learning like the rest of us, and if it doesnt work ill move on to the next best thing, but if i wanted the stock one i wouldve kept it. And the biggest thing of them all is this is a full on built motor, if i kept the stock one i cant call it that let alone produce the power I WANT!!! and if your going to flame me for this, you shouldnt have made the damn comment in the first place. And your right i only hear what i want to hear, b/c i want this to work and there is absolutly no reason for it not to all i was asking was for a little help not some bullshit sarcastic remark. if you cannot offer any HELPFUL tips them dont frickin bother replying. I didnt sign up for ths site just to get dissed, i did it for tips ideas and help in some occasions.

I didn't mean to flame at all. Your best bet is to take measurements and maybe the block with the IM to a machine shop and have them grind the IM to a good fitment. Otherwise we have given you all of the info we have on OBX.

Never heard a good thing about a OBX manifold, but I know a guy on 2GNT who swears by his Venom IM.

No flaming here...but what makes you think the proper work to the stock manifold wouldn't give you just as much if not actually more gains than the "garbage" you have now? If you got this so called full-on built motor, then you should know a thing or two about what's going on, and the fact that our stock intake manifold with minor work as stated is indeed quite potential

then by all means please show me some graphs, or physical evidence, dont just tell me that its garbage. Im using this setup for my own ideas in which the manifold provides me with more surface area to do so, in which i couldnt with the stock cast, so untill you know the reasons i do things dont shoot me down, i dont deserve it. I havent gotten to the point where its not even running yet, so i cant tell yet. If anyone was paying attention in the first place we wouldnt be having this discussion. The original question was how to mate the injectors to the rail, all i was asking was for a little info, not everyones 2 cents, everyone has there own opinion and as of course entitled to it, but i wasnt asking for it. and im sure that that portion has already been discussed. And please send over the link to other tread relating to this, cause i havent found it. And for most part i know what im doing, but the things i do not know is THE REASON I ASK QUESTION IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! even the most experience mechanic asks questions. ####ing duh. But in all reality i have fianlly figured out what i needed to know, but if anyone else has different ways to connect the injector to the OBX rail let me know, maybe those ideas will be better.

Nobody is "shooting you down" bro...

You need to calm down and stop attacking back at people before your thread gets locked, the mods will take care of the ones that get outta line. All the general consensus is saying...if you search about this product, you're definitely not the first person to have the issues that you are. Most of the individuals in the past actually gave up eventually and just got rid of the stuff for whatever profit they could. On the other hand, there are others who managed to make it work, but for what gains... Then on yet another hand, as stated there are the few that have made them work, and continue to swear by them. If I were you, and you're dead set on making this stuff work...then do your searching and contact those that will be able to guide you where you need to be :thumb:

yeh i understand, i was just fed up with opinions, its cool and all but i was originally looking for tips on making part of it work, but its cool cause i figured it out now, no biggy, but i do understand everyones concern, and thank you. But for now im too far along just to sell this and give up and go to something else, to me that would have been more of a hassle. But like i said i got it now and we'll see what ahppens, next thing im working on now are the cams, but no worries i got those picked out and ready to go.

Cool cool, just wanted to make sure we're all good...so how bout you tell us what you did, since you say you got it all figured out now, I'm curious LOL.

+1 for pics :thumb:

well since i have precision injectors, seems like a really small tip to even try and be connected to the rail, no clips no connectors, so it felt like no hope, it even seemed like the clamps on the back side (to hold the rail) werent working, and this is with the O-rings that came with them,(but not correct). And i had no idea. So i was playig with them for a few days and my master tech in my shop had a bunch of o-rings, so i fished through them until i found what i needed (for the injector tip) as far as the rail was concerned, i used the stock o-rings we use for our stock mani, got them from NAPA, i needed 12 of them. But as now were talking about the top of the injector, with 2 o-rings sandwiched at the base, and another on top of those left in the groove, (which is the partthat inserts into the rail, the with that combination putting it back into in the manifold, everything lined up, even with the hold downs. P.S. the complany provided no info from Precision Turbo&engine. So i was pretty much flying blind.

ill get more good pics later

Hopefully that works out for ya, I'm just not too sure that sandwiching 2 o-rings together is a good idea...

well theres a total of 3 actually, 2 on the outside putting opposite pressure on the rail and 1 on the inside sealing the fuel from getting out and with them positioned the way they are i applied about 130psi of air pressure to the rail, and nothing happened so i think ill be good. But if anyone has a better way to this please by all means im open to it.... And likei said ill get a few more pics for ya...
