On a 97 Eclipse RS, the fuel rail has a cap on the left hand side when you take it off looks like a pressure release valve. What would go in place of this, or what is it meant for?

Its a "test port" that is used to see if there is sufficient fuel pressure at the rail. It has a Schreader valve in it, much like a valve on a tire. Push the pin in, and fuel should shoot out.

People with the 8 injector setup remove the valve, and use that port as a way to connect both fuel rails. Other than that, I think you can remove the shreader valve and put on a fuel pressure gauge if you want.

I removed my shrader valve on the testport and connected steel braded fuel line from there to the inlet on my sfmu for my turbo setup. I've seen some that have the test port on the side of the fuel rail too. pointed out on the end of the rail.
