2G OBD2 Port no longer works

Ok guys im in desperate need of help here...I have a 96 TSI

so in my infinite wisdom I decided that it would be a good idea to remove the dash and take out and remove the heater core and AC stuff... Since I was in there I was thinking... air bags aren't needed... removed those... and well. ABS isn't needed... that's gone too... and since all those are gone ... I don't need the harness stuff for them either.. decided to cut stuff out... opps...

so heres my issue

I can no longer connect to link... I have checked that all harness grounds have been kept and are there and "grounded"

I checked fuses and all are good....

I checked power (pin 16) via ground (pin 5) going to the obd2 port and it checks out.

Pin 7 (pink) hasn't been touched

Pin 1 was cut. how ever it was cut at a "junction" that ran somewhere to I don't know what (I know not helpful)

I jumped pin 1 to connector 55 pin 56 on the ECU and I still cant connect...
pin 1 says to draw 5v or more... according to the WIKI and its pulling 5 or more...

im at a loss here and just felling really stupid .. any help would be awesome... thanks

Don't know if this helps but pin 1 also goes through junction 23 to anti-lock brake system and central door lock system and through another junction 55 to the ELC auto tranny.

Pin 4 should also go to ground and pin 7 to ECU connector 55 pin 62.

all those have been removed so

and as for Pin 7 its already connected.... wasn't touched.
