o2 voltage questions

hey guys, i need help, my car has a really bad rich condition and i have narrowed it down to being my o2 sensor reading, i just installed a new 02 sensor and i am getting around 1.0 to 1.5 volts at the plug during warm idle but at the wiring harness where my a/f meter taps into the wire i am getting 11.5 to 12 volts and i know that has to be to high, the car just smokes really bad and i can't hardley get it over 2 grand without it flutter out, please help i need to know what voltage i need to be getting at the wireing harnes or what i need to do to solve my problem, thanx

Your O2 sensor is not capable of putting out 11-12 volts.

It is if he tapped into the heater circuit in the sensor but I know what you ment.
The actual O2 part shouldn't put out more than 1v.
