is anyone running without the second o2 sensor? i am doing my exhaust and i want to know if its ok to just leave the sensor out since it will throw a CEL anyway. i will still have the sensor in the o2 housing though.

If you'd done even the smallest amount of research you'd know the second O2 sensor is ONLY for the OBD2 check of the catalytic converter.

Each and every time you post it's abundantly clear you didn't search first. The ONLY reason I'm giving you your answer instead of telling you plain and simple that you're lazy is the rules state I can't just tell you to search.

i know what it is for, i am wondering what people are doing with them? just hacking them off or tucking them somewhere? i know its just a cat check, otherwise we wouldnt be able to run without a cat. i want to know how people have done this. i knew that they didnt really matter i just wanted to know how people were going about this since most of the videos i have seen show the o2 sensor in even though it doesnt matter.

Why was this posted in the custom fab section? This is a tech question.

Anyway.
Searching this site, some of the first hits for rear o2 sensor...

Those are 3 of the first 6 hits I get.

tl;dr-
Yes, you can eliminate it.
Yes, you'll get a CEL.
Yes, you'll have to make/buy and o2 sim or turn it off the CEL with ECMLink or comparable tuning device.
No, you won't pass a emissions readiness check unless you do ^^^.
Yes, you can run a wideband in the rear o2 sensor bung once you remove the cat.
No, it's really not too far.
Yes, this has been gone over a million and 56 times.
