I know this is a well talked about subject here and maybe im just not understanding but can someone explain the procedure of porting the wastegate and O2 housing .... My question is " when you port the wastegate bigger and the walls of the wastegate are you supposed to match the O2 housing port to the exact same size and also do you trim the gasket thats between to match the porting of the wastegate and O2 ... I havent seen anything related to trimming any gaskets and was wondering if i missed something ... or is there another gasket you should get and gasket match to that ??? and one more thing when you are porting the turbo inlet do you open the actuall opening that is directly above the fins or just open the intake that leads into the turbine .thanks for your help ... :dsm:

thank you for the help but i have already looked at all the vfaq stuff and done alot of searching on here .... Really the problem is that i dont want to fu** anything up so can you tell me... Is the O2 gasket alot bigger than the holes in the wastegate and o2 or something .my friend has a new gasket set that line up exactly with the holes in the O2 housing and turbo unported .... is there another gasket i need to get ??? ive seen alot of pics of wastegate porting and those guys port alot of material out of there . Do they just port to the gasket ??? and where can i get those gaskets .my friend got his at western auto but like i said the gaskets line directly up with the stock unported O2 and wastegate holes ??? thanks for the help

intresting.. try the big dsm ships... rre, dejon tools, road race.. ect... on the o2 side you only remove the lip on the bottom of it and those two little courner peices of wastegate inlet.. personally spend the money and get a nice fat tubular o2 houseing.. porting is kind of a waste of time vs gain vs money

for the power spend the money and do it the right time.. you can get a punishment raceing o2 for under 100 bucks shipped..

i beleive i have my old o2 houseing that is ported if you also intrested and dont wanna mess with yours..
