I hope canadiantsi and oldman read this. Well let me start off by saying I run an SC61 .63a/r hotside, its a 2.0L stock 7:8:1 engine. I used to run 33psi on the stock 2g mas (unhacked) tuning with dsmlink, we started to lose airflow counts uptop in the rpm range (too much airflow for 2g mas, I was seeing 56lbs min... in some logs). The car hasnt ever surged once, with the 2g mas + FP 4" intake pipe + K&N filter. Now onto my quest for running more boost, we decided to goto a maf-t setup. With that being said, its now being ran in blow-though, with a K&N filter directly over the S compressor cover. Now since ive got the maf-t setup on the car, its surging real bad at 4700-4900 (transition from 20psi to 30psi).
Things you might want to know: has jmf race intake manifold, has 272/272 cams, greddy type S bov, tial 38mm w/.7bar spring, running devilsown meth injection post maf.
Couple of questions id like answered : Was the 2g mas + FP intake pipe that big of a restriciton to not cause comp surge? Do you think a ported surge cover will alliviate this problem? Should I stop being a b!tch and just throw on the .82 hotside and deal w/the extra lag in hopes of curing the surge?
