compressor surge

i just installed a greddy large fmic and a evoIII 16g, ever since i have been having bad compressor surge under lower boost levels. I have a gredddy type-s bov. setting it all the way soft helps but doesn't fix the problem. setting it hard makes it worse. I am going to try a 1st gen bov this weekend.

any ideas?

Could be a boost leak messing up the vacuum...i had the same problem w/ my type s and only when i fixed all my leaks is when it worked and didn't compressor surge or flutter....eventually i just went back to my 1g crushed it just wasn't worth the effort to keep messing with the screw....
