I was driving home from work one day. My 90 tsi awd just warmed up. I was babying her cus the transfer case had just locked up on me a few days earlier. I was about to turn into my apt. complex and i here a "tink tink tink" like something was dragging on the asphalt. I was still diagnosing the problem when it felt like the car jolted. The car shut down and I still had enough momentum to make it into my complex and into a spot. I left the car there so i could see if I snapped a rod or lost a driveshaft(becuase of the recent professional t-case install done by the worthless chrystler dealer over here). I didnt' see anything, I looked under the hood and under the car for oil marks, Nothing. I check the dipstick for metal shavings...nothing. I checked the road...nothing. So then I left the car there a few days and then drove it to my garage only 100 feet away and it warmed up, idled and felt fine. I'm really confused. It's been parked ever since. I've recently found a shell i'm trasplanting this motor into but i dont want to end up with 2 shells and 2 blown motors. I havn't had time to check anything out. I plan to look at it tonight. Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Steve S.

sorry... There could be a chance that it is loose... but usually if it was loose, the driveshaft seal would of went and their would be fluids on the car. Can you explain where the sound was comming from... are you sure it was near the driveshaft? or would you consider something under the hood.... because could of been something that got loose to cause the car to shut off...
