Not sure if it is AWD or not

How do I tell if my laser is awd

Umm, maybe try looking under the rear for a differential :p?

Anyway, I believe only 1992 Lasers could be AWD, and they were equipped with a manual gearbox. The 1993 model, you could get as AWD but it would be automatic and less power (180 I think?).

If you are not aware let me explain it. AWD cars have 4 axles to drive ALL 4 tires. FWD cars have 2 axles driving the front 2 tires. If you peak your head under the rear and don't see axles going to the wheels then it is not AWD. Also AWD have this thing called a driveshaft. IT goes from the transfercase which is attached to the transmission all the back to the rear differential where the rear axles are plugged into.

Look at the back of the big lump between the front tires and look for a long cylinder with joints in it going to smaller lump between the back tires with 2 smaller cylinders with rubber sleeves at each end going to the wheels.

The Plymouth Laser was only available from 92-94 with All Wheel Drive, 1Gb - with fixed headlights. After looking at your profile you say it is a 91 model year, therefore you have a FWD or Front Wheel Drive.. Also by looking at your profile pic and avatar you have flip up headlights, so I can guarantee that you do NOT have an AWD Laser.
