I went to drive the car and the idle started acting funny like it wanted to shut off. Then it started acting like the tps was screwed up when i held it at part throttle then after 2500 it would clear uo untill 4500 where it started break up. I took it back home and tried to adjust my idle which barely helped and checked my tps which was fine started the car up and now i cant even drive it. Cyl 4 and 3 header tubes are cold. So i changed plugs and same shit. So i took off my coil on plug setup and put on my oem coil pack and new plug wires and same shit. Checked power tr unit and its fine. Check injectors and they ohm fine as well. Wtf is goin on? I have a feeling its not getting spark but dont have anybody to turn the car over while i check spark. Please help

Well for one i didnt put that i had a boost leak so thanks for that. 2 it doesnt idle so its not a boost leak.

that kind of attitude gets you nowhere around here. He simply stated you should check. On another note... the main things you would need to get those cylinders firing would be air/fuel/spark. I know you said it pulls hard from 2500-4500 but, Have you tried a compression test on those cylinders? How about timing? Thats were i would start

Well that reply wasnt toward him. Somebody changed my thread name and that irritated the piss out of me. Ive checked cam timing its dead on. I just checked ignition and it seams fine i have spark on all 4 cylinders . I checked compression and i have 190psi on all 4 cylinders. I sprayed starting fluid into the 2 dead cyls and it fires right up and runs fine untill the starting fluid is burnt off. That tells me its something with fuel. I just installed a brand new walbro 255 and did the fel pump rewire and all was good untill after i drove it and i adjusted the idle. I just checked my resistor pack an its within limits and i checked my mpi/fuel pump relay and its fine as well. Maybe ecu? When i checked the injectors both leads had 12v on all 4 is that normal?

I see your getting voltage. but you should swap your 2 injectors from the bad cylinders with the injectors from your good cylinders. See if those other 2 cylinders start to heat up...

Just out of curiosity... Do you have a aftermarket FPR?

And sorry, I cant answer that question about voltage. I don't have my chilton in front of me haha. Maybe 1 of the wisemen will chime in

Nope stock fpr. Maybe in the morning ill swap injectors. I just put the mulit meter on them again and all 4 are at 3.5 ohms and my book says 2-3 ohms. Earlier they were 2.8

Could be bad coolant sensor, or ECU issues. Funny how a bad coolant sensor, which will not throw a CEL can cause these kinds of issues - which mainly causes fuel injection to go off-sync with the system and give you horrible results.

And I'd leave the idle stuff alone until you can find out otherwise some solutions to your problems.

Ok so my coolant temp was at 2.8 ohms thus morning and the temp was about 70 so thats fine. Im guessing ecu??

Brand new walbro 255 with 10 gauge fuel pump rewire. And it smells super rich when running. I wouldnt think that its fuel pressure problem since the car runs on cyl 1 and 2. Maybe my cas or maf? How do i check my haynes is very vague.

Replaced fuel filter and now it runs on all 4 cyls. Smh dont understand why it would run on 2 cyls with a bad filter but whatever. So after it got hot it wouldnt idle so i checked my isc motor and it was bad so tested another one that i had laying around and that one is good. So i put it in with a new oring and got it to idle but very low and missing bad. Tried to adjust idle and now luck at all still very low idle. So i checked my idle and its at .50 volts. I dont know how iam going to adjust my ignition timing considering the person i got the car from took all the timing belt covers off?

Tells me that your Wally 255 is massively overpowering your injector/fuel rail setup.

What colortop/size are the injectors?

If you're doing stock 450s (bluetop), that Wally is about to blow them out of the fuel rail due to the very high pressure the Wally is pushing out .. and one of the many reasons of the cut out you're experiencing.

Other is the stock ECU that 'talks' to the 450s, for that is the only size your ECU will know how to talk to.

If you're going to shove in a Wally 255, you need to finish with the correct size injectors, chipped ECU, and DSMLink to work with that Wally 255.

A Wally 255 works fine with injectors above 750's and nothing below.

If you want to use your stock, or mild setup, then a Wally 190 works better.

Damn. Yes power transistor is still in place and tests good. I mean before i had the problem of running on 2 cyl it was pulling hard then it started acting up and now that it runs on 4 cyls again i cant even drive it. I removed the cas when testing everything and i have no way of timing it since i have no timing belt covers. Unless theirs another way. And the injectors are blue

Well it was smelling super rich when it was running on 2 cyls. Now that its running on all 4 it smells just like it did before i put the 255

What cars came with the 6 bolt so i can get some timing belt covers? Doesnt the 98 sonat use a 6 bolt?
