aight guys heres my set up 2g gsx with a huge fmic 16g turbo already tested boostleaks safc2 255 walbro and 650 cc injectors (and yes i know my profile says diff) now i was racing a buddy who used to own a gsx who now owns a 4.6l mustang gt and i wasted him but he said that it should be pulling alot hard than it was and another friend has a gst thats stock running 15psi takes off like a bat out of hell now keep in mind that this race was from a 60mph roll i down shifted into 3rd and she pulls hard but idk im being told it should pull hard now i know its hard to make a dignosis without riding in the car but is there anything anybody can think off that may be making me loose my power.

Ok here's what I'm running. I don't have 850s (still the stock 450s) but this is what I'm using:

Innovate LC-1 -> This is a wideband, like everyone keeps mentioning. Look under your car. Chances are you'll see just 2 o2 sensors. 1 near the turbo and 1 just after the cat. If you have a wideband, it would probably be a third sensor between these two. When you get a wideband, weld another bung into the downpipe for the third sensor. There are other brands, but I went with the LC-1 instead of AEM or PLX ones now out.

SAFC 2 -> I'm also using this. I really haven't gotten into tuning with it yet though. Most people only recommend using an SAFC up to 650cc injectors because of the way the SAFC works. It reduces the amount of air the ECU thinks it seeing, so it injects less fuel. BUT with less air flow, the car increases the timing. By the time you're using 850's you are pulling a lot of air flow and increasing the timing a lot. This causes knock.

EvoScan -> This is what I use for logging. It allows me to monitor timing advance, knock sum, air intake temps, and a few other important things. By using this and the LC-1, I can decide how to adjust the SAFC.

But Do I Really Need To Keep The Narrow Band Stock O2 I Was Told I Could Just Replace It With The Wide Band Because I Dont Have Anybody From Around My Parts That Knows How To Work On These Cars And I Dont Want Just Anybody Going Underneath My Car And Welding Shit If He Doesnt Know What He Is Doint Ya Know What Im Saying So If I Can Just Replace The Narrow Band With The Wide I Think I May Do That.

Buy a logger first, then deal with the WBO2.

Most widebands will have a simulation output that will convert the 0 - 5v wideband output into a signal usable by the ECU. Be aware that the AEM Uego, does not have a narrowband simulation output. The problem is that most wideband sensors are supposed to be placed further away from the hotside of the turbo than the stock sensor. The best thing to do, is have another O2 sensor bung welded in your downpipe, keep the stock O2 sensor and install the WBO2 in the bung.

Not having a logger, can cause major problems. Depending on how your SAFC is set, you can seriously damage the motor if you don't know what you are doing. You really need to get a logger and until then, I would recommend staying out of WOT.

I recommend the PocketLogger software and a cheap m130 Palm from ebay.

You need the narrow band O2 pre-catalytic converter. It is the key sensor that tells the ECU to switch from open-loop operation to closed-loop feedback when NOT at wide open throttle conditions.

As for the wideband, most people with 2g's take out the second O2 sensor post-cat and replace it with the wideband O2 sensor. It will throw a CEL, but there is a way to fool the ECU into thinking it's there. I'm not sure how to do it, since I don't have a 2g, but I'm sure someone on here will be able to help you out.

In order to utilize the wideband O2 sensor, you need a controller - AEM UEGO, Innovate LC-1 (I use this), PLX, etc. Do a search and see which one is the best for you in terms of price and what you want. They all do pretty much the same thing, but they may have slightly different features.

If you just stick a wideband O2 sensor in the bung, you will not get any reading and throw a CEL since a wideband sensor emits a 0-5V signal vs. a narrowband sensor which emits a 0-1V signal. This is why you cannot just connect a wideband sensor to the ECU.

On a final note, try to use better grammar so it's easier for others to diagnose the problems.

EDIT: NATHAN BEAT ME TO IT

can someone tell me where a afr gauge connects to ### im thinking i may have a prob with me its one of the gauges that just says lean rich and stoich and by the way i just took the car for a spin i was getting on it and the gauge shot straight to rich is that good or bad?

If I Got With The Dsm Link Do I Still Need The Pocketlogger?

no you wont but you will need a laptop (cheapo old one will work) and an Eprom ECU that I think only comes in 95's for the 2g's

I have link and it works great. Pretty easy to use and Im pretty stupid with electronics.

BTW I got a wideband o2 sensor and gauge with the wires bung and all that on ebay for 200.

Not to be a prick or anything, but the questions you are asking have been answered 1000's of times. Finding the answers is easily accomplished by using the search button at the top of the page. I would suggest that you do some reading, then ask questions about the parts you don't understand and we'll be more than happy to help.

Additionally, the use of proper grammar and punctuation will make reading your posts much easier and will actually get you more responses. Typically, most veteran members will skip a post that's difficult to read and filled with tons of grammatical errors. Make a nice, neat post with clear thoughts and you'll get more help.

One of the people I've learned the most about DSM's from, used to say:

"A problem well stated is a problem half solved".

y do you cringe at that do you some helpful info for me:pray:

I say it half jokingly. People where reading plugs long before 02 sensors where around, then came the narrow band 02 sensor, and the widebands followed. I have no problems tuning without a wideband and usually its the DSM owners with about 1 week of experience telling me I NEED one.

For people who imply a narrow band isn't effective, I picked up my fuel pump pressure drop off with the narrow band 02. It's good enough for the masses and I haven't found a pressing need to get a wideband yet.

You would however benefit immensely from an OBDII datalogger.

Well mine was on a stock 14b and everything on the outside looked normal but when I looked I actually had two huge cracks all the way through. I couldn't boost over 9psi! Yours may be smaller but ya mine were noticeable :p.
