My 97 2g just crankwalked at 140,000 miles. The crank pulley is now hitting the inner frame  So where, and how much could I pick up a new 7-bolt. I do want a 6-bolt, but I don't want to deal w/ always trying to get the car smogged here in cali. So I'm just going to go w/ a 7-bolt and cross my fingers. Heck if it will last another 140,000 miles I'll be happy.

That would've made my day, except.... my oil pressure went straight to zero when this happened. So what does that mean????? Would a harmonic balancer cause that?

No it wouldn't cause that. Have a look to see if it's just the pully seperating. They tend to rip on older cars as it's rubber between the first and second half.

If this is the case then replace the part. As for the oil pressure going to zero thats wierd, are you sure that you have zero oil pressure? Are you sure that the pully coming appart didn't rip off the wire to the oil pressure sender or otherwise damage it? It's in pretty well the same area near the oil filter housing. Look at this picture, you can see it at the back very close to the pully. It's possible that when it seperated that it smoked your sender.

BINGO! I took a close look at everything yesterday. Here's what happened... The rubber in the crank pulley seperated causing the pulley to wobbled off and evenutually strike in the inner frame. When the pulley made contact with the frame the PS belt began rubbing against the frame and shredding apart. One of the pieces from the belt snagged the oil pressure sensor wire and pulled it out.

Thanks guys for your input!!! I owe you one. I was sh**ing bricks there for a minute.
