There is a such thing as rich knock.

True, but in Scone's case it's more likely due to 23* of timing advance on low-octane fuel.

How would i lean it out exactly? I'am really new to tuning LOL.

Depends on what you are using for tuning. (I don't see anything in your profile).

But I would drop timing to get rid of the knock, and then slowly increase the AFR (slightly) to see if you can get any more power out of it. 23* of timing advance is way out there; you normally won't see any torque gains past something like 20 or 21*, if you aren't already knock limited... which you are.

Hmmmm LOL interesting.
You have to look in the max octain table and move your values up. I'm guessing they all still say 9.8 for the majority of the table. You can also trace the pull and see what boxes it hits. From there you tune the boxes it hit, along with the ones around it to the desired value. That is if your VE is set up right and your injectors are dialed in.

But Id do what Calan said first and bring back your timing, then start leaning it out.

sorry, forgot to mention i run of MAF comp and recently I disabled MAF clamp like aforementioned. so i would need to decrease(i.e if i had 0* at 5k rpm i would need to "drop" it like to -1 or lower correct?) timing on the timing adjustment table then if i run off of MAF instead of SD then i would need to adjust those factors on the MAF comp tab?

Duh.. I see that you posted a log...it's been a long day. :)

MAFComp isn't used to "tune". It's a tool for calibrating your airflow, so that the ECU sees an accurate amount of air entering the engine. Once it's calibrated, it doesn't need to be changed unless you change something on the engine that affects airflow.

Once the ECU knows how much air is entering the engine (MAFComp) and how much fuel it has to work with (fuel settings), you can start "tuning" by setting new targets in the AFR and timing DA tables, and then looking for increases or decreases in performance, fuel economy, drivability, etc.

(Be careful about thread jacking the OP here... you really should start your own thread).

i do have my own thread, no one likes me enough to reply. :sosad:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/log-file-advice/425455-bad-tune.html

EDIT: so MAF comp is best done cruising around for 20-30 mins staying out of openLOOP and trying out all sorts of different terrain(hills, downgrades, ect..)?
And is the above about what i said about the timing adjustments correct?

(just realized iam jacking again LOL.. pls reply on my thread.

How do you guys look at the log he put up? I click on it and ecm's program pops up and shows nothing... I did the free download on their website.

Thank you Calan! I appreciate it. I'm still new to link and i'm currently saving up to get it for my 1g :)

i did another 3rd gear pull...any advice?

Your real air fuel ratio isn't 11.5:1 if you look in the log it flat lines there

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but your going to need a buffer <--Click to see the real afr in link lower then that while logging with most aem gauges being logged to the EGR...
