Noob info on dsmlink

Ok I just picked up a 1992 vr4 galant and im looking to pick up dsm link what do I need to get me started.

An eprom ecu (you probably already have one), a laptop, and a dsmlink package. From there you can get all sorts of things to make your car have a better tune. At a minimum I would suggest a wideband o2 sensor and a 3bar or higher map sensor.

You mean my stock one correct.

Some stock ecus have a (more or less) removable chip that can be replaced and some are not easily modifiable. I believe that most or all GVR4 cars came with eprom ecus (the ones with chips). If your car does not have one though ECM tuning can convert your non-eprom ecu for use with dsmlink.

Search the forum for eprom to find out how to identify an eprom ecu.

Where are you at with this car? Do you plan on doing quite a few mods? DSMLink is probably a later step if your not going to do too much right now.

I would look into some upgrade paths from so different tuners before I would spend 500+ dollars on DSMLink. All saying if you haven't upgraded the car too much yet.
