Nonturbo flywheel/turbo evrything else

ok so Im not exactly a n00b but anyways, I found that I have a slight issue now. I am working on my build, got a spare motor for basically free, took it apart, found ARPs, (YAY) evrything is clean and in useable condition. Except the flywheel. So I found an excellent deal on a new lightweight AASCO flywheel got it for fraction of the real cost , long story short, didnt notice missing dowel pin hole sooooo now im stuck with a badass nt 6 bolt flywheel.

Ive done quite a bit of searching, and it seems the solution would be:
1) grind off dowel pin.
2) get nonturbo starter shim plate, since flywheel is slightly smaller to relocate starter.

and im stuck here. Will my Exedy clutch fit the nt flywheel?? seeing as how this one is flat and not stepped...

My last resort would be to to sell it and get a new, correct but more expensive flywheel ...pix up soon.

i dnt believe it will work considering they make them different for a reason i think you'll have clutch problems imo.. but i never heard anyone trying it so don't quote me on it

Naw its cool, people do and have mixed and matched the clutch/flywheel/trannys. I did research, just didnt get a definitive answer. I CAN use the flywheel, jus dnt want to use the supposed weaker nt tranny. Also dnt want to buy a new clutch, rather just sell this flywheel to sum lucky NT dude. AGAIN, last resort.

I am assuming that when you mention anything turbo you are referring to a FWD turbo; consequently, anything that references "turbo" below refers to a FWD turbo.

A non-turbo starter plate doesn't automatically relocate the starter. It (the starter) still bolts to the transmission, and the non-turbo starter plate will not match up with the starter mounting holes in the turbo transmission.

Further, the non-turbo flywheel is smaller in diameter than a turbo flywheel (which is half the reason for the different starter plates). The clutches are the same way, differing in diameter by 10mm which would mean a 5mm ring on the outside of your turbo disk that will not sit on the non-turbo flywheel's friction surface. Additionally, even with a turbo starter plate and the turbo transmission, you'll have issues with the starter trying (but failing) to engage the smaller non-turbo flywheel.

Get the correct flywheel and starter plate for the transmission you plan to use because you cannot use the non-turbo flywheel and starter plate with the FWD turbo transmission.
