A few days ago I found out that I have a bad TPS so Ive been looking around trying to find one. Brand new they cost around $150, but on ebay i found one(used) for about $30. The only problem is that it says it works for all turbo and non turbo Lasers, Eclipses, Talons, Gallants, and 3000GTs 95-99. I would definitely like to save $120, but i dont want to get a TPS that wont work in my 2g talon tsi. So my question is, does it matter what kind of TPS I put in my car? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Did you search, there are other threads discussing compatability.

Otherwise, go to an online parts store, and pretend like you are buying the part for a turbo car, get the part number. Then do it for non turbo, get the part number.

Are they the same or not? There's your answer.

Yes, the 2G TPS for 4G63 engines has a built in Idle Position Switch that the 1G TPS doesn't have. You can use a 2G TPS on a 1G but not the other way around.
