Well since it doesn't look like I will be getting an eclipse any time soon I was wondering if anyone knows how I can get some more horsepower from my plymouth reliant . It is only 90hp

custom turbo that bi*** and get 150hp out of it...hey its better then nothing and you will have that bad ass BOV sound.., custom fab a manifold...slap a 14b on...get bigger injectors, a talon smic, custom fab some piping...fuel pump...SAFC...and you will be turbo'ed

What motor is in it? You can put a 2.2 turbo motor in it. Came in lots of chryslers, will dop into the kcar.

The money you would spend on putting a turbo and other performance parts you could easily get a 91 maybe even 92 GST or GSX.Might need a little work but hey.

sell the reliant, buy a dsm. you'll need about 700 for the car. considering you do your own work, re gasket and repair everything on that car. Buy a logger an make sure it runs right first. then if you want to tune. go for it

Custom CAI, custom exhaust (unless you can find those parts from a manufacturer), really good tune-up, and if your serious, look into a nitrous kit.

All the ideas listed above are good, but a total waste imo. At least 90 hp hondas, etc., have a ton of aftermarket support, you have zero. You can find a decent 1g turbo car for $1000+/-. I found my 90 TSI AWD for $200. It ran pretty good. I gave it a tune-up and replaced a few body pieces and have about $500 in it. It needs paint, but who cares for what I have in it.

Keep looking, unless you can find a super cheap 2.2 turbo out of another chrysler vehicle. One of my buddies had a 85 Laser 2.2 turbo that ran decent, that engine should drop in with minimal hassle. Good luck whatever you do
