i made my own on my 1g. it doesn't loop around like the oem ones. it goes right from the firewall to the intake manifold. haven't had any problems yet.

^^^yup, there is a guide somewhere on how to do it...works quite well actually.

so my goal is to get the foot pedal to function thru the cable to the throttle body? well cant i just buy some bike brake cable to weld if i need more slack and use that??? LOL

**I'm not guilty if you mess this up, do it crappy, or somehow otherwise manage to create something unsafe that kills/injures you or your car**

That said:
1. Take all the cruise control stuff off.
2. Take the bracket off the old throttle cable from the throttle body end. It has 2 spot welds or something like that. I uses a Dremel to get them off.
3. Measure where you need to attach the bracket to the new part of the cable.
4. Bend the metal part of the cable in a way so that you can
5. Attach the bracket to the cable. I was able to just bend the hooks around the cable and it held great.
6. Test it's operation with the car off. Make sure it moves freely.

That's about it.

:hmm: ok ill give it a shot in the morning ill pm you if anything thanks man.

i went to a hobby shop and looked around for a piece that would act like the little piece they solder on the cable. i found one that actually had a set screw go into the flat side and was perfectly sized for the cable and hole in the throttle arm.

these are what i used and i just cut the nub off that sticks out. usually from age the cable is permanently bent from being wrapped around a pulley its whole life so i left plenty of slack. you will find the sweet spot of slack and when it pulls the throttle immediately. although there is slack the pedal still pulls it full WOT. i guess the cable is so stiff that you don't feel the slack.

i did this mod my self pretty much as it was explained ----- just make sure your not over extending the throttle plate at full throttle i had to put a stop beneath my gas pedal - but here again my cars stripped down to the essentials - no carpet etc.........

there is a stop on the tb for WOT. i personally don't apply enough force to the gas pedal to break a cable.

Are you freaking serious? It's $50 ... go buy the damn cable or leave your car alone.

friend you are welcome to spend all the money in the world on you gto, vette, busa or eclipse... thats your business. some people like tinkering with things and working on projects more than spending money. clearly, you like spending your money and are very proud of that fact. truth is no one cares. not a single person on this site gives a rats behind what you spend your money on, does not effect any one.
so if this guy wants to come up with a creative fix for his car rather than spend his money it should not offend you. do you really care? you must if you have taken the time to point out his error.

point is either make you post worth while by offering helpful suggestions, or sod off. Especially in the fabrication forum.

How much improvement would you say there is in petal feel. is this more of a clean up mod or did it make enough difference.

Greathuskie: Ill take that offer! pm me.

Fir my 98 eagle talon, i removed the cruise control and used a honda cable bracket. Bolts to the bolt behind the manifold. Works great. Cant remember off the top of my head, but has to be a civic or integra.
