2G No start

I have a 96 tsi having no start and no fuel pump, i changed out battery re done grounds checked for power and nothing all i hear when trying to start car is a relay clicking behind radeo please help

Does the check engine line come on with key on and then go out after 5 sec?

On the manual cars the starter relay when activated disables the connection from the ignition switch to the starter if the clutch isn't pushed in (and will do so if the switch is bad or the little rubber pad on the clutch pedal is damaged/missing). That may be the source of the click when trying to start.

The quick test is to unplug the switch and see if the starter starts working.
