no start have fuel and spark

so i have fuel and spark in my 1990 eagle talon tsi
but i cant get the thing to start i just replaced the cas with a 91+ cas and changed the wiring and it still didnt start
it kinda turns over like its going to start running but then just keeps cranking
i have no clue on what is going on on the car
but i also did replace the fuel pump with a walbro 255 ### i thought my stock one was bad
one other note i kinda drifted into a pole before all fo this happened on my drivers side and i noticed some gas smell right after i did it but i drove it for like 4 days before it didnt start
i dont know if thats part of the problem or not i really need to get my car running all help is appreciated as it is snowing and i have no car to drive

Did it run fine until you replaced the CAS and rewired it?
I would not suspect the bump as a problem with ignition.

It doesn't leak fuel or anything? It sounds like its a fuel issue if it did infact run before you put a CAS on it. Make sure the 3 bolts that hold the rail on are tight. Also check your connection from when you put the fuel pump on an double check to make sure they are tight.

it didnt run so i replaced the cas ### the wires were frayed on it so i suspected the cas
ive ben having problems for over 2 weeks off of it not starting i replaced the fuel pump and the cas and it still doesnt start
any help?

Did you reset the computer after installing the new CAS.. You'll need to.

all internal combustion motors need three things to run. Fuel that you have, Spark that you have. Then compression. do you have compression?

how do you know you have fuel?

try other ECU, and check the CAS wires... i had same problem in my 90, i burned my ECU

i checked the ecu and everything looked fine
i didnt tighten all the bolts on the fuel pump yet ### i dindt know if the fuel pump was gonna work

check for a fuel issue! Sounds like the ecu. I had a 90 that would do that. It wouldnt start and then after 20 times it would and run fine, but every morning same thing. then a couple months later the ecu was smoking, replaced and that was obviously the problem.

did you install the CAS right ### one time i just barly moved mine and my car wouldnt start after that you should check the timing if you can

I would check to make sure the cas is correct, and i would get the ecu professionally looked at, there is alot of things the average person could not find.

have you changed the fuel filter lately sometimes they get clogged just enough to still give fuel but not maintain the correct fuel pressure

hmmm if u really think that might be an issue ill change it out
i took off my fuel rail and watched the injectors squirt but i dont know how much is too much or what to look for

How did you manage that without blowing the injectors out of the rail?

If you hear it kicking over then its probably fuel related, IE too much or too little, trying holding the throttle open at different positions.

what kind of pattern did the injectors make a spray or jet

they sprayed from cylinder 1 to 4
like
1 sprayed then 2 then 3 then 4
the injectors didnt blow out of the rail though
maybe something is messed up?

ECU 90-92 Should work would 93's not sure.

I believe that the 1990 ecu only fits 90 because some of the pins are different. 91-94 is the e931 on manual and e932 on auto. i think the 90 is the e743 if im not mistaken

If I was you I would make sure I didn't install the new CAS 180 deg. out. All you have to do is pull the CAS out rotate it 180 deg. and reinstall and try again.
It's true you only need 3 things to make a internal combustion engine to run, fuel, spark and compression. But they also need to get there at the same time.

but the 02 sensor wiring like melted so i didnt have it running for long
